Packaging machinery manufacturer Multivac recently launched a new business unit to deliver packaging films to its customers.
The debut offerings are DuPont Teijin's Mylar COOK and BAKE films, sold exclusively through Multivac as thermoformable packaging materials.
Multivac spokesman Jerry Hirsh told PlasticsToday the films business is a natural extension for the company.
"For example, a marketer of seasoned meat products may be looking for a new package that looks better on the shelf, has better seal integrity and perhaps offers a modified atmosphere for extended fresh shelf life. We can deliver that," he said. "But with a value-added packaging material like Mylar COOK, we can add an extraordinary convenience attribute that changes the game entirely in comparison to the competition."
