Medical uptick prompts moldmaker Zahoransky move; continued growth in China

Automation systems supplier and injection mold manufacturer Zahoransky Group is moving its 200-employee moldmaking business unit to a new facility in Freiburg, about 12 miles from its current location in Eichstetten, Germany. The company says the move is necessary to provide space for predicted growth as the moldmaker's sales, especially for injection molds for medical applications, continue to grow.

The relocation into the purpose-built facility in Freiburg is expected to be completed by the end of September 2011. The company's strategy going forward is to expand its position in medical engineering and its sales of complete clean room solutions-so for Zahoransky both the injection mold and the automation system for parts' removal, secondary processing and assembly. About 1/3 of its employees work in the moldmaking unit....
