MEDevice San Diego highlights medtech innovation

The MEDevice San Diego Conference & Technology Showcase returns for a fourth time to California's second largest city in September with a two-day educational program that explores a host of issues of deep importance to medical device manufacturers and developers. The event will be held at the San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina on Sept. 10 and 11.

The first morning of the conference will be devoted to such hot-button topics as the future of personalized medicine, achieving regulatory compliance, accelerating prototyping and manufacturing using 3D printing, and developments in wearable technology. Notably, Matthew Diamond, Medical Lead at Misfit Wearables, will address how wearable technology can increase patient engagement in wellness. Diamond spoke with PlasticsToday on this topic; you can read the interview here.

On Thursday morning, Sept. 11, the focus turns to big data (and how to make it meaningful), the thorny issue of device interoperability, and new challenges to healthcare innovation. A panel discussion on startups and pipeline innovations rounds out the morning sessions.
