Lego investing $100 million in Mexico


International toy company Lego A/S of Billund, Denmark, renowned for its interlocking plastic bricks, is investing $100 million-plus to expand its plant near Monterrey, northern Mexico, its only manufacturing operation in North America.

Pablo Salazar, senior director of Lego Operaciones de Mexico SA de CV, told Plastics News the money will be “fully spent” by September 2011.

The company, he said, has already invested $300 million in the plant, at the Nexxus Industrial Park, municipality of Ciénega de Flores.
