Japan's JNC (Tokyo) plans to set up a production operation in Changshu, China for long glass fiber-reinforced thermoplastic (LGFRT) compounds. When it starts operations in September 2012, the 7,000 tonnes/year facility will boost the supplier's global capacity to 32,000 tonnes/year.
Formerly known as Chisso Corp., JNC manufactures LGFRT compounds at subsidiary JNC Polyfine in Ichihara, Japan (15,000 tonnes/year capacity) and U.S affiliate Comusa LLC (Covington, GA; 10,000 tonnes/year). The compounds are sold under the Funcster brand.
The China and Asia markets are currently served out of the Ichihara facility but growing auto production in China has prompted the company to set up shop locally. JNC Polyfine Asia (Changshu) Co. will also handle marketing in the Asian region outside of Japan.-email@example.com...
