Kuraray: Comprehensive elastomer solutions

The company announced that it will unveil some new developments at K 2013, among others new Hybrar styrene block copolymers with extremely low oxygen transmission rate. The Elastomer business unit of the Japanese company will also inform visitors about the Kuraray Liquid Rubber (KLR), a series of functionalised polybutadiene/isoprene products. KLRs are designed to have a plasticising effect and vulcanisability with solid rubbers. As crosslinkable and therefore non-migrating plasticisers they can improve the processability of rubber compounds without compromising the mechanical properties. In addition to their function as reactive plasticisers and coagents for EPDM, carboxylated KLRs can improve the adhesion to metal and the mechanical properties of silica-filled rubber compounds. Based on these characteristics, KLR is used in diverse rubber fields, from tyres to other rubber goods as well as for coatings, adhesives, and binder systems.Kuraray is also a leading producer of polyvinyl alcohol (Kuraray Poval, Exceval) and polyvinyl butyral (Mowital, Pioloform). Its Trosifol films are used for laminated safety glass for vehicles, buildings, and solar installations. The company's product portfolio also includes chemical specialities like artificial diols, 3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol (MPD) and 1,9-nonanediol (ND). Those are truly unique materials produced with Kuraray's proprietary synthesis technology. Beside that Kuraray will inform about other products from its portfolio as activated carbon, man-made leather, methacrylic resins, ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (Eval), and much more.Hall 7a, stand D06
