Nearly a year and a half from the show's open, K 2013's 19 halls are completely sold out with numerous exhibitors seeking bigger stands, according to show organizer Messe Düsseldorf. The official exhibitor registration for the event, which will be held from Oct. 16-23, 2013 in Düsseldorf, Germany, passed in May.
In a release, Messe Düsseldorf President and CEO Werner M. Dornscheidt noted that many of the expected 3000 exhibitors are already working on new products and presentations for the triennial plastics showcase.
That news comes in the midst of an extremely difficult spring for Euro zone countries, with ongoing economic crises threatening to topple the monetary union. The challenges of 2012, however, come on the heels of an extremely successful 2011. The German Machinery Assn. (VDMA) reported on March 28 that German Plastics and Rubber machinery suppliers set a new export record in 2011. China was the top destination, with overall exports of plastics and rubber machinery up by 30.5% in 2011....
