Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association aims at revitalising home market

The industry association listed three basic areas of activity during the current fiscal year. These are the promotion of Japan's manufacturing craftsmanship which has long been the dominant factor in the success of Japanese automakers' products both in the home market and overseas. Furthermore the revitalizing of the domestic markets and achieving greater safety and convenience in vehicle use. On a global level there is the complementary pursuit of the association's promotion of the establishment of an International Whole Vehicle Type Approval (IWVTA). JAMA said that this standard will be instrumental in accelerating international harmonisation of automotive technical standards for the purpose of expediting the certification process. JAMA expects this standard to bring significant benefits to consumers.
