JAPAN: Nippon Shokubai completes boost to Himeji acrylic acid capacity

The addition of 80,000 t/y of acrylic acid at Himeji increases the site's acrylic acid capacity to 540,000 t/y and the company's global capacity to 780,000 t/y.

Acrylic acid demand, and that of its main derivatives acrylates and superabsorbent polymers, shows "steady growth,” the company noted. "With the start of the new acrylic acid plant at Himeji, . . . Nippon Shokubai will enhance its position as one of the world's top suppliers of acrylic acid.”
