JAPAN: Japan Butyl Co. Expanding Capacity For Halobutyl Rubber at Kashima

"The expansion by our affiliate's joint venture at Kashima will add 10,000 t/y of capacity in the region,” said John Lyon, ExxonMobil Chemical's vice president for butyl
polymers.  

"Demand for halobutyl rubber is expected to grow at about 6% per year, mainly in the Asia Pacific region,” he noted.  The expansion is expected to be completed
this year.
