Italian machinery makers rebound in 2010


Figures provided by Assocomaplast, the Italian trade association representing about 170 of the country's manufacturers of plastics and rubber machinery plus moldmakers, show the country's industry moving in a positive direction following the decidedly difficult 2009. Total exports were up 10% and the percentages were even higher for primary processing machinery.

The final 2010 balance for the Italian plastics and rubber processing and recycling machinery industry shows a firm recovery, even higher than Assocomaplast officials had expected in previous forecasts, with respect to 2009. All five of the main indicators for the sector reveal decidedly positive trends, recovering the losses suffered in 2009 compared with the record-year 2008....
