IMPROVED ENERGY EFFICIENCY ON INLINE THERMOFORMING

Increasing energy costs, customer’s demanding flexibility when it comes to product variety, rising costs for production space and environmental consciousness are the driving factors for continuous improvement of MEAFs’ sheet extrusion lines and thermoforming machines.

INLINE THERMOFORMING FOR GPPS/THICK PET CUPS
When it comes to thermoforming of rigid, sturdy materials like GPPS or PET up to 2.0mm, MEAF has the right thermoforming machine for your project : The KMS600. With its servo driven plug assist and specially developed intake heaters, in combination with a MEAF energy efficient H-series extrusion line, it provides a sturdy solution for thermoforming even the most rigid materials!

Two of MEAF ‘s latest inline combinations, sold to a Customer in Thailand, consisting of the complete production line and its auxiliary equipment, completely engineered and produced/assembled at the MEAF premises in Yerseke, Holland!

THERMOFORMING CUPS UPTO 180MM DEEP
MEAF’s thermoforming machine KMS600, equipped with tilting technology, is an excellent production machine for even the deepest of cups! Due to its rigid construction and bolted forming station, it is possible to produce cups upto 180mm across the entire form area!

The KMS600 is a flexible, robust production machine incorporating many optional features, such as a servo driven plug assist, fully automatic lubrication system for all major parts and individually controlled heating zones in lower heating frames, as a standard and making the KMS600 a flexible, all-round production asset!

ENERGY EFFICIENT SHEET EXTRUSION FOR THERMOFORMING
Increasing energy costs in combination with an ever more demanding market for lower prices and more flexibility and environmental consciousness have let to the success of MEAF’s H-series of extrusion lines, utilized for thermoforming sheet and foils!

The MEAF H-series of sheet extrusion lines are equipped with an energy efficient design, consisting of a combination of a barrel, screw, energy efficient motor and heating elements, together with a specific temperature profile (developed by MEAF). This provides a unique concept when it comes to energy saving and has been proven for many years with MEAF!

With the energy efficient design of the MEAF H-series, it is possible to reach an average energy consumption between 0.16 and 0.18 kW/kg, for the entire sheet extrusion line (including auxiliary equipment like winders and take-off!)

Advantages of the MEAF H-series sheet extrusion lines :

• Sustainable due to production space reduction, lasting equipment life and reduced total energy consumption by 50%, compared to competitors;
• Produces higher output at lower melt temperatures and motor RPM (< 200);
• Short residence time, reduces wear on the material;
• High ratio of regrind possible (a stable mix with a (minimum) bulk weight of 0,50 kg/litre).
