Husky Injection Molding Systems recently hosted its North American Caps and Closures Conference at its global headquarters in Bolton, ON, Canada. More than 85 business leaders attended this two-day event (held on June 11 and 12) that showcased Husky's range of offerings for beverage and specialty closure manufacturing.
John Galt, Husky's president and CEO, said in a news release that the company is committed to growing its closures business.
"To support this, we are also partnering with other industry leaders, suppliers and customers to develop solutions that drive waste and variability out of the plastic closure supply chain," he said. "We are optimistic that plastic closure performance will continue to evolve and that future manufacturing solutions will open up new markets for growth."
The event included networking opportunities, product demonstrations, as well as presentations from Husky and others in the industry. Keynote speaker Bill Hall, executive VP of Manufacturing from Niagara Bottling, delivered a presentation on managing rapid growth in beverage manufacturing. Also presenting was William R. Carteaux, president and CEO of SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association, who spoke about why it's a good time to be in the plastics industry....
