Higher costs for Durethan and synthetic monofilaments

Perlon-Monofil GmbH is one of five sections belonging to the Lanxess Semi-Crystalline Products (SCP) business unit. It manufactures a range of polyamide and polyester monofilament products and markets them worldwide under the brand names Perlon, Atlas and Bayco. On 15 October 2010, the SCP business unit increased its prices in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for Durethan A (PA 6.6) compounds by EUR 0.25 per kilogram and for Durethan B (PA 6) compounds by EUR 0.15 per kilogram. According to the company, the increases were necessary because of constantly rising input costs, especially for the PA 6.6 feedstocks and specialty additives.
