High-temperature polyamide replaces rubber in brake booster lines


Evonik (S23093) is presenting its new Vestamid DX9360 grade, a polyamide extrusion compound for tubing systems that has the potential to significantly extend the lifetime of engine lines, at NPE 2015. The resin is the first of a new family of high-temperature resins from Evonik.

Tubing made from Evonik's new high-temperature resistant Vestamid DX9360 compound can reportedly replace rubber hoses in encapsulated engine compartments, thereby saving space and weight. "Our customers asked us for a new high-temperature polyamide, distinguished by particularly high resistance to continuously high working temperatures," said Jeff Smith, vice president and general manager, Evonik's High Performance Polymers. "And we delivered with Vestamid DX9360."
