There was some hootin' and hollerin' when RxFiber (Windsor, CA) was named one of the finalists of the Golden Mousetrap Awards last night during a ceremony at the co-located MDM West, PLASTEC West, and Pacific Design & Manufacturing events in Anaheim CA. You can imagine the roar of approval when RxFiber was announced the winner in its category.
RxFiber was up against Sabic and APM Hexseal Corp. in the materials segment of the materials and assembly category. It was recognized for its development of a high-tenacity polyethylene (PET) fiber designed to accommodate demand for thin, strong fibers for small device delivery systems in transcatheter applications. We wrote about the technology earlier this month on PlasticsToday in, "Small medical victories enabled by high-tenacity fiber."
