Alleging anti-dumping margins in excess of 50%, GlassFibre Europe (Brussels / Belgium; www.glassfibreeurope.eu) in December called for an investigation of Chinese imports of fibre glass products. The commission began the necessary proceedings on 17 December 2009. The products under investigation are chopped glass fibre strands of up to 50mm length, glass fibre rovings and mats made of continuous or discontinuous glass fibre filaments, mainly used as reinforcers.
Three Chinese companies exporting to the EU have raised alarm among the GlassFibre Europe members. They are Chongqing Polycomp International Corp (Chongqing / China; www.cpifiber.com), Jushi Group (Tongxiang, Zheijiang / China; www.jushi.com) and Taishan Fiberglass (Taishan, Shandong / China; www.ctgf.com).
