09/02/2015

Dynamically stressed casing components in the automotive industry need outstanding mechanical properties: high burst pressure strength is essential to withstand alternating stresses. Good chemical resistance against corrosive media is also required.

Engineering plastics supplier Evonik says it has a material up to the task in the form of its Vestamid HTplus M1035 P1 polyphthalamide (PPA) molding compound. The plastic was developed especially for use under these difficult conditions. The new PPA grade also reportedly achieves very good impact strength.
