(Munich/Düsseldorf, October 16, 2013) At the K 2013 trade show in Düsseldorf (October 16 to 23, 2013, hall 15, booth B27/C24/C27/D24) KraussMaffei Berstorff will present its new generation of central line control system – the innovative C6 control system – for the first time, combining features that have been tried and tested over many years with state-of-the-art technology.
Systematic, continued development: One control system – everything in hand
"In our new C6 control system, we have systematically implemented features that have worked well in the past and continue to do so, and we have combined these with state-of-the-art hardware components," explains Peter Roos, President of the Extrusion Technology segment and of the KraussMaffei Berstorff brand. It fulfills all the requirements in terms of excellent product quality, optimal production set-up and transparent production conditions," explains Roos. With its numerous monitoring and closed-loop control functions, the C6 control system offers fast, direct access to the individual units of a machine, to the extruders which work conjointly to produce the product, and to downstream equipment at all times. Equipped with the latest software, the C6 control system is also ideally set up for future machine concept requirements.
Using multi-touch technology to operate systems; using RFID technology to access systems
"State-of-the-art multi-touch technology coupled with a high-resolution, 24-inch full-HD screen allow for simple, intuitive operation and an optimal overview," continues Roos. The clear screen layout provides a comprehensive process overview. Units and functions can easily be operated and activated via the touchscreen display. Non-contact identification using RFID readers enables fast, secure access to the machine.
KraussMaffei Berstorff has placed great emphasis on designing a system that is versatile for the operator. Thus, for example, the composition of parameter pages can be chosen freely, and display and parameter texts can be tailored to individual requirements; system components can be switched on and off as required. The C6 control system also benefits from remote diagnostics via the Internet and data interfaces to connect to the company network.
A variety of models, also at the K 2013 trade show
A range of different operating variants are available to extrusion shops; these include a console mounted on your switching cabinet door, one which is swivel-mounted on your switching cabinet, and a mobile version. Exhibits KME 60-41 B/R and KME 30-30 B/R will already be equipped with the new C6 central line control system at the K 2013 trade show.
