Preserving fossil resources and avoiding atomic waste so as to protect future generations and prevent radioactive disasters – such goals can be achieved through the continual development of renewable energy sources. However, the resulting additional costs are passed on to all energy consumers through the German renewable energy surcharge. With the help of GRAFE consultants and special additives these costs can be reduced.
The energy created by solar collectors and wind turbines is fed into the grid. The German Renewable Energy Act (EEG) stipulates that a fixed price be paid for this energy in the form of a feed-in tariff. The grid operators then sell their „green energy“ on the energy exchange. Since the prices paid on the exchange are lower than the fixed feed-in tariff, energy consumers are forced to make up the difference by paying the EEG surcharge. This ensures the further spread and development of renewable energy technologies and preserves fossil energy sources.
To counteract these additional costs, the GRAFE Group is offering a comprehensive service to help save energy. In addition to in-depth consultation, there are special additive masterbatches, especially for polyolefines, that can lower costs starting right in the production by enabling faster processing at lower temperatures. Lower energy requirements and shorter cycle times have a direct impact on the cost structure and the profit margin. This additive masterbatch of the GRAFE Group can be used in all standard machines for injection molding, extrusion and blow molding.
