Elastocon expands overmoulding TPE series

Among others, the new STK 50 and STK70 grades are suitable for applications in boat and aviation instrumentations. They have Shore A hardnesses of 45 and 67. The company cites as main benefits of the new grades, which can be injection moulded, extruded, blow moulded or compounded, their high flow properties to make them suited for complex parts or components that require protection, good colourability, aesthetically appealing surface finish and high impact resistance, even at low temperatures.
Applications can include boat and aviation products, recreational products, power tools, instrumentation and hand-held electronics where non-slip, soft touch ergonomics, UV stability and resistance to microbial growth and household products might be required.
The company based in Rochester, IL, USA, offers a 2800 series and 8000 series of TPEs, a SMR series of TPOs, the STK series for overmoulding, and alloys.
