Elasto: Latest developments in adhesion compounds

[image_0]Dryflex grades can be co-extruded or overmoulded with a wide variety of engineering plastics including PP, PE, PA, ABS, PC, PS, PMMA, ASA, SAN and their blends. Dryflex A compounds offer UV, ozone and weather resistance with service temperatures from - 40 °C to 125 °C. They are particularly well-suited for applications where good sealing performance is required, such as food containers or seals on white goods.The Mediprene A series were developed specifically for medical device applications. The base elastomer is chosen from a series where representative grades have passed USP Class VI, the paraffinic oil is medicinal white oil complying with European Pharmacopeia and the plastic component is a medical grade that has passed USP Class VI.Mediprene A grades are PVC, silicone and latex free, making them allergen free and a viable alternative to PVC based compounds. They bond well onto, for example, transparent, rigid thermoplastics often used in medical and healthcare applications such as MABS, PC, PETG and SMMA.Medical technical manager at Elasto, Niklas Ottosson commented: "Mediprene adhesion compounds offer many advantages, they allow designers and medical device manufactures to differentiate products while meeting important user and patient demands, including soft-touch cushioning for greater comfort and non-slip surfaces with improved grip for safety". Applications for Mediprene A compounds include seals, membranes, closures, friction grips and soft-touch handles. They also provide sealing capabilities in fluid environments.At Fakuma Elasto will be co-exhibiting with their German distributor Nordmann Rassmann GmbH.
