Injection molding and blowmolding firm, Currier Plastics (Auburn, NY) has added a 400-ton Negri Bossi VE 370 injection press to its lineup, with sampling of closures from the new machine to start up at the end of the month, according to VP of business development, Max Leone. "In our market segment, we do a lot of closures with automation," Leone said, "and this machine fits that bill. The price was right and the technology was there." Leone told PlasticsToday that the company now has 40 machines under its roof, including 24 blowmolding lines for both extrusion and injection stretch, and 16 injection molding machines, ranging from 24 to 500 tons.
This is the first Negri Bossi machine the company has bought, with Currier attracted by the all electric's digital front end, which it believes will make it more efficient to operate than older models.
