On August 25, Currier Plastics (Auburn, NY) hosted a group of ninth-grade students from Auburn High School who will be participating in this year's P-Tech Auburn Pathways in Technology program. P-Tech is a six-year program that encompasses more hands-on learning than a traditional school environment. Upon completion of the program, students will have both their high school degree and an associate's degree from Cayuga Community College.
The P-Tech program blends academia with real-world experience and prepares the students for careers in the electrical and mechanical technology industries. Each student will be matched with a business mentor and gain professional experience during his or her high school years and, after six years, graduate with a New York State Regents diploma and an associate's degree from Cayuga Community College.
