Cristal Global: Force majeure declared on TiO2 from UK plant

Cristal Global (Jeddah / Saudi Arabia; www.cristalglobal.com) has declared force majeure on all products manufactured at its titanium dioxide (TiO2) plant in Stallingborough / UK following an explosion at the plant earlier this month. A worker who was injured in the explosion on 5 March 2010 died last week after suffering burns and inhaling toxic fumes. Cristal said production at the plant was suspended following the incident and an investigation is underway.


The force majeure will remain in effect until further notice, the company added.
