A new round of price rises for unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins is evidently in the offing. At the start of this week the major North American producers announced price hikes of around USD 0.05/lb across the board from early or mid-March. The move is partly due to a rise in raw material notations. The price increases are currently confined to North and South America.
AOC LLC (Collierville, Tennessee / USA; www.aoc-resins.com), Ashland Composite Polymers (Dublin, Ohio / USA; www.ashchem.com), Cook Composites and Polymers (CCP, Kansas City / USA; www.ccponline.com), Hexion Specialty Chemicals (Columbus, Ohio / USA; www.hexionchem.com), Interplastic Corporation (St. Paul, Minnesota / USA; www.interplastic.com) and Reichhold (Research Triangle Park, North Carolina / USA; www.reichhold.com) are all planning to raise prices.
