Clear Lam introduces biobased packaging material for medical kit packaging


"Next generation overwrap film" is a new biobased packaging material developed for medical kit packaging and made with a minimum of 40% renewable raw material derived from plants. The new biobased packaging is produced with modified Ingeo PLA from supplier NatureWorks, and co-extruded at Clear Lam's CL Polymers facility. Clear Lam introduced its latest film, produced by the company's CL Polymers division, during September's Pack Expo trade show. CL Polymers compounds additives for both flexible and rigid thermoforming roll stock to improve the raw materials, such as an additive for PLA to make the packaging material more flexible and pliable, explained Dave Klopp, vp of flexible sales and marketing for the processor....
