Chemtura Describes Additive Innovations and Growth Plans at K2010

Chemtura Corporation announces it will present its new additive innovations within its extensive line of flame retardants, antioxidants, UV stabilizers, polymerization inhibitors and organometallic specialties for plastics, and describe some of the investments it is making in R&D, manufacturing expansions and in emerging markets at the K2010 in Düsseldorf, Germany on Oct. 27-Nov. 3, 2010.

Visitors to Chemtura’s booth at the K2010 will learn more about Chemtura’s new Application Development Center in the Nanjing Economic & Technological Development Zone that serves as the company’s technical center of excellence for its businesses in the Asia/Pacific region. This state-of-the-art facility, combined with the expansion of the company’s regional headquarters in Shanghai and further recruitment in Shanghai and Nanjing, support the company’s growth plans in China and the region.
Chemtura’s Flame Retardants business, a global innovative leader in providing safe, cost-efficient products that protect people and property from the hazards of fire, will introduce a number of new additions to its portfolio of sustainable, high-performance flame retardants, as part of the company’s “Greener is Better” program, which is focused on offering customers greener solutions without sacrificing safety or quality.

Chemtura’s Antioxidants & UV Stabilizers business will continue to confirm its commitment to the industry through innovation, growth and further investment. In response to customer demand for cost-effective, greener and customized dust-free additive solutions, the innovative Weston® Liquid Productivity Platform has been created and the company’s proprietary Non-Dust Blend® (NDB®) technology further developed.

Expansions to Weston® 705, a member of the liquid productivity platform, will be highlighted at K2010, together with the complementary additions of liquid phenolics and blends to the range. A portfolio incorporating liquids, NDBs and powders provides customers with a broader range of stabilization solutions and greater operational flexibility than ever before.

The Antioxidants & UV Stabilizers business also will highlight its investment in manufacturing expansions, with a special focus on the emerging markets to ensure that the business remains the leading player in the plastics additives arena.

Chemtura Organometallics will be launching extensions to its broad range of catalyst components for the global polymer industry. The new products will carry the AXION® trademark, replacing the former EURECEN / EURENOR trade names for single-site catalyst components and donors for Ziegler-Natta PP catalysts.

The Organometallics business also will highlight expansions in production capacity to meet market demand. Together with Joint Venture partner Al Zamil, the business will forge its regional presence in the Middle East, building a world-scale metal alkyls plant in Saudi Arabia offering technological innovation to the growing polyolefin industry. The new plant is planned to come on stream in 2012.

Chemtura will present its new products and growth plans in Hall 6, stand number E24
