BASF: Polyamide FMs remain in place

No end is yet in sight to the supply bottlenecks at two sites operated by BASF (Ludwigshafen / Germany; www.basf.com). A group spokesman confirmed that the plants producing the PA 6 and PA 6.6 compounds of the "Ultramid” and "Miramid” ranges meanwhile have restarted - at year's beginning an exact date was still unclear. However, the spokesman emphasised that for now, the group would only be able to meet its existing orders and that force majeure remained in place.

The group further said the FM declared in August 2009 on hexamethylendiamine from its plant in Seal Sands / UK probably would not be lifted before the end of Q1 2010.
