America’s growing influence in composites reflected in new event

In a nod to the region's growing influence within the global composites market, composites industry organization JEC expects the second edition of its new JEC Americas event to grow alongside the burgeoning manufacturing sector.

"The Americas are a critical strategic market for anyone hoping to compete in the global composites industry," Frederique Mutel, JEC president and CEO said, noting that the region represents 34% of the global composites industry in value and 32% in volume.

"The economy is dynamic in North America," Mutel said. "Some companies are working on relocating manufacturing in America; the price of energy is reasonable; and as lightness is required in most applications, the composites market is growing."...
