Additive improves thermoforming, foaming properties of PP

Kaneka (Osaka, Japan) has kicked off marketing efforts for a new modifier for polypropylene-based resins. The additive, dosed in small amounts, reportedly enhances the processing and foaming properties of polypropylene (PP) resins.

Itself based on PP resin, the modifier reportedly boasts excellent compatibility with PP base resins, while it does not adversely affect the external appearance of molded parts. Further, it is said to be heat resistant, low in density and low in cost.
