Engineering Plastics² - Strong focus on engineering plastics competence within the Feddersen Group
A strong group of companies focussing on engineering plastics – this is how AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH, specialist for innovative and application-oriented plastic compounds and K.D. Feddersen GmbH & Co. KG, distributer of engineering polymers, present themselves at the K-2010.

“The motto „engineering plastics to the square“ symbolizes the comprehensive know-how, both companies of the Feddersen Group are specialized in. Due to this, we are in the position to advise and support our customers comprehensively”, according to Leander Bergmann, Head of Marketing at AKRO-PLASTIC. “Within the Feddersen Group, the scope of competences in engineering plastics has been expanded considerably during the last 60 years. Additionally, we are not only able to provide a strong service to customers in Germany, but also to customers based in numerous European countries as well as non-European countries such as China, Southeast Asia and Latin America by our branches of the Feddersen Group”, Bergmann adds.

At this year’s K, both companies will highlight the large and diverse number of products within the portfolio they represent.

Further development of products as well as expansion of application development of engineering plastics have successfully improved partnership between distributor K.D. Feddersen and well-known world wide acting manufacturers of polymer as LyondellBasell Industries or Ticona over the last decades not only nationally but also internationally. A wide range of highly innovative fields of application is worked out together.

Besides diversifications of products of these manufacturers, being distributed by K.D. Feddersen, service competence should be focused. Due to this, K.D. Feddersen has its own application development in contrast to other classical trading companies. Here, the customer is supported in choosing the right type of raw material. Furthermore, efficient as well as practicable solutions are created with regard to development of products. The customer-focused planning of demand, distribution and production offers customized distribution concepts for every customer, even in small amounts.

The company AKRO-PLASTIC is an integrated service partner. With the state-of-the art production facilities, customized formulations are being developed and translated into marketable standard products or respectively applied special products. At the turn of the millenium, the Feddersen Group recognized the chances of globalization. K.D.F. Distribution (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was founded in 1998. According to 5 distribution locations in Beijing, Changchun, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing as well as 9 warehouse locations, the high requirements placed on the domestic market in China are settled just in time in the same way as in Europe.

In 2002, AKRO-PLASTIC sets the base with establishing a state-of-the-art production site, adapting to the requirements of the millennium. Continuing this strategy, a subsidiary in Suzhou, China was established in 2004.

Since 2004, AF-COLOR – a subsidiary of AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH - acts under its own behalf within the internationally acting Feddersen Group. Since this particular point in time, expansion of environmentally friendly production lines has been rated high.
