"Green manufacturing” in focus at Chinaplas

China's 12th five-year plan's policies on energy saving and emission reduction, together with the introduction of various regulations on environmental protection, have led to the new challenges to the development of plastics and rubber industries.  As Asia's no. 1 and the world's top 3 plastics and rubber trade fair, Chinaplas has fully demonstrated this major direction and paved the way for green plastics and rubber industries."Eco-friendly Plastics Conference"
CHINAPLAS 2011 will be held in the China Import & Export Fair Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou, PR China from May 17 to 20, 2011.  Mr. Stanley Chu, Chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd, the show's organizer, stated that the show would continue last year's theme of "Green Plastics? Our Goal? Our Future" to cater to the market needs, and would disseminate the messages of "energy-saving", "emission reduction", "recycling" and "degradable plastics" through different exhibits and concurrent events."Eco-friendly Plastics Conference", one of the concurrent events, will gather renowned international and Chinese corporations and associations' representatives from the plastics and rubber industries to share the current hot topics and their insights. Invited organizations included British Plastics Federation, the Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc., NatureWorks LLC, etc.As China is now the world's largest plastic product manufacturer and consumer, the research, production and application of bio-plastics are important for the sustainability of the plastics industry in China. One of the topics of the conference, "The Challenge of Sustainability and the Applications of Bio-plastics and Degradable Plastics", will discuss the standard and sustainability of bio-plastics and degradable plastics in USA, Europe, and Japan, its applications and market trend. The topic of "Reduce Carbon Emission with Recycling Plastics Technology" will introduce the current situation and trend of plastics recycling machinery in China. The organizer has invited experts in recycling industry to share their experience and research findings. The energy-saving plastics machine industry has been included in the six major areas of the 12th five-year plan's policies.  The topic of "Achieve Energy Efficiency with Energy Saving Plastics Technology" will explore the role of servo technology and electromagnetic induction heating technology in achieving high efficiency and low emission reduction.Special Events and New Zone Raise the Environmental Awareness
To promote the message of environmental protection, the organizer said that it will hold a record-breaking event - "Beating Record by Recycling Bottles" during the show.  More than 3,000 recycled bottles will be collected to create a plastics statue and create a new record in the Guinness World Record, with an objective to arouse the environmental awareness of the exhibitors and over 80,000 visitors at the on-site fairground. In addition, the organizer has newly established the "Bioplastics and Degradable Plastics Zone", aiming to create an efficient and convenient platform for buyers who are looking for green manufacturing solutions.  Exhibitors of this zone now include NatureWorks LLC, Kingfa, Biograde, Shenzhen Ecomann, Hangzhou Xinfu, etc.Among the exhibits of chemicals and raw materials and over 1,900 sets of advanced machine and equipment, many of them are green exhibits.  For example, the hybrid Allrounder 720 H from Arburg can reach the energy-saving potential to 40%; Milacron's Elektron All-Electric Injection Molding Machine provides a solution for the production of high-end products of the medical and food industry; NatureWorks uses sugars taken from plants to transform into a bioplastics - Ingeo; D-M-E's Eco-Smart Hot Runner Systems which is specifically designed to maximize the success of processing polymers including PLA, it greatly enhances the processing of "green" polymer.Celebrating the 25th edition of Chinaplas
Chinaplas 2011 has been increasing its scale in the coming 25th edition. The total exhibition area will further expand to over 180,000sqm.  Tracing back to the 1st edition in 1983, the area was only some thousands square meters.  Later in 2007, the exhibition area achieved the first-time breakthrough of 100,000sqm.  The major reason causing the double increment in the scale is the synergy effect generated by the rapid development of the plastics and rubber industries, plus its application industries, such as automotive, packaging, electronics and electrical appliances, building and construction, as well as the implementation of China's new policies. Some prestigious corporations who have exhibited for years also expressed their feelings toward Chinaplas. Hermann Althoff, Group Vice President, Engineering Plastics Asia Pacific, BASF expressed that in Chinaplas, they could contact many existing clients and potential clients and the show also helped them promote their new products and solutions quickly. Gero Willmeroth, Sales and Service President, Engel Machinery (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. indicated that influence of Chinaplas had exceeded that of many other exhibitions in the same industry. Kenny Wu, Corporate President, Shini Group said, " Chinaplas has been growing successfully and its influence is prominent to the world. It is honoured to participate in this fair."With the rising demand on the plastics and rubber technology and the recycling technology for the plastic products, it is anticipated that the potential development of the plastics and rubber industries will be enormous.Prominent International Status Attract Overseas and Local Buyers
Chinaplas 2011 will have over 80,000 visitors, expecting 18% are overseas buyers from 130 countries and regions.  Currently, overseas delegations like Brazil, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, etc. will visit the show.  In China, many well-known enterprises have already pre-registered online, such as Drager, Southern Packaging, CPMC, Guangzhou Wanglaoji Pharmaceutical, Lee Kum Kee, JDB Group, Danone, Pepsi, Delphi, Foxconn, Vtech, Siemens, BYD Auto, Zhongtong Automotive Parts, BorgWarner, Bosch, Yanfeng Visteon, Honda, East Pipe, etc.Visitors who pre-register online will receive the visitor badge before the show and can be exempt from the admission fee of RMB20.  The promotion will be available on or before March 15, 2011.
